About Opportunity
JR Enterprise, in partnership with Dorn VA Medical Center, is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiology Physicians to provide high-quality, patient-centered anesthesia care to Veterans. This 1099 contractor role offers flexible scheduling, professional autonomy, and long-term stability while allowing you to make a meaningful impact in the care of those who served our country.
You will join a multidisciplinary perioperative team, delivering anesthesia across a variety of surgical and diagnostic procedures in accordance with VHA standards, Joint Commission requirements, and local facility policies.
Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Anesthesia Services
  • Deliver general, regional, neuraxial, and MAC anesthesia for surgical and diagnostic procedures
  • Conduct and document pre-anesthesia evaluations including history, physical, and risk assessment
  • Develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans based on patient condition and procedure
  • Manage intraoperative anesthesia, airway, hemodynamics, and pain control
  • Provide post-anesthesia care, monitoring recovery and managing complications
  • On-Call and Perioperative Coverage
  • Participate in facility-required on-call coverage, including urgent and emergency cases
  • Respond promptly to perioperative emergencies and airway management needs
  • Patient Safety and Quality
  • Ensure compliance with VA patient safety initiatives, infection control policies, and quality assurance programs
  • Participate in peer review, performance improvement, and morbidity & mortality activities
  • Accurately document all anesthesia services in the VA EHR system
  • Collaboration and Communication
  • Work collaboratively with CRNAs, surgeons, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding anesthesia plans, risks, and expectations

Qualifications Required:

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency
  • Current, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Anesthesiology (ABA or equivalent)
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain VA credentialing and privileging

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a VA or federal healthcare system
  • Experience supervising or collaborating with CRNAs
  • Strong documentation skills and EHR proficiency
  • Physical and Administrative Requirements
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform manual tasks associated with anesthesia delivery
  • Compliance with all VA occupational health requirements, background investigations, and onboarding processes
